An Act to amend the Coroners Act 1979-80
(11 April 2001
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
(1) This Act may be cited as the Coroners Amendment Act 2001, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Coroners Act 1979-80 ("the principal Act").
(2) This Act shall come into force on the date it is assented to by the Queen's Representative.
Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by -
(a) deleting from subsection (1), the words "Judicial Service Commission" and substituting the words "Minister of Justice";
(b) deleting from subsection (2), the words "one (1) year" and substituting the words "three (3) years".
Every appointment made, every act performed and everything done before the commencement of this Act, is hereby validated and declared to be as always validly done.
This Act is administered by the Ministry of Justice
