An Act to amend the Criminal Justice Act consequent upon the transfer of responsibility for Corrective Services from the Justice Department to the Department of Corrective Services

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short title - This Act may be cited as the Criminal Justice Amendment Act 1981.

2. Interpretation - Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the word "Minister" and its definition and substituting therefore the following:

""Minister" means the Minister Responsible for Corrective Services"

3. Director of Corrective Services - The Principal Act is further amended by deleting the words "Secretary for Justice" wherever they appear and substituting therefore the words:-

"Director of Corrective Services"
