An Act to amend the Official Information Act 2008
(10 February 2009
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled and by the authority of the same as follows:
l. Short title and commencement - (1) This Act may be cited as the Official Information Amendment Act 2009, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Official Information Act 2008 ("the principal Act").
(2) This Act shall come into force on 11 February 2009.
2. Interpretation - Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by deleting paragraph (d) of "Qualified person" and substituting the following new paragraph -
"(d) a body corporate, wherever incorporated, which has had a place of business in the Cook Islands for not less than 3 years and continues to have a place of business in the Cook Islands."
3. Repeal - The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing Schedule 1 and substituting the new Schedule 1 attached hereto.
