An Act to amend the Public Service Act 1975

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Public Service Amendment Act 1977 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Public Service Act 1975 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 34 and substituting the following section:
"34. If in any case the Commissioner has grounds to believe or suspect that a head of Department may have committed any of the offences specified under section 32 of this Act he may notify the head of Department accordingly and institute any inquiry he considers necessary. In any such case the provisions of section 33 of this Act shall apply with the necessary modifications, references in that Section to the Head of Department being construed where necessary for the purposes of this section as references to the Commissioner.
This Act is administered in the Office of the Public Service Commission.
