An Act to amend the Transport Act 1966

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Transport Amendment Act 2000 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Transport Act 1966 ("the principal Act").

2. Disqualification of driver's licence and partial disqualifications - Section 31 of the principal Act is amended by -

(a) inserting in subsection (1) -

(i) immediately after the figure "28" where it first occurs, the words "or section 37";

(ii) immediately after the figure "28" where it last occurs, the words "and section 37";

(b) inserting in subsection (4) immediately after the figure "32" the words "or section 37";

(c) inserting in subsection (5) immediately after the figure "32" the words "or section 37".

3. Application for removal of disqualification of licence - Section 33 of the principal Act is amended by -

(a) inserting in paragraph (a) of subsection (2) immediately after the figure "32" the words "or section 37".

(b) inserting in paragraph (b) of subsection (2) immediately after the figure "32" the words "or section 37";

(c) inserting in subsection (3) immediately after the figure "28" the words "or section 37".
