PURSUANT to Section 49 of the Entry, Residence and Departure Act 1971-72, the Queen's Representative, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following Order:

ORDER

1. Title - This Order may be cited as the Entry, Residence and Departure (Exemption) Order 2008.

2. Exercise of special power of Minister - (1) The Minister hereby exempts from the provisions of Part III and IV of the Act persons who are married to a Cook Islander or Permanent Resident and have been in such marriage for a period of not less than five years at the date of the coming into force of this Order.
