Commerce (Rent Increase Restriction on
Residential and Ground Rent) Order 2011

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 45 of the Commerce Commission Decree 2010 (Decree No. 49 of 2010), the Commission, with the approval of the Minister, hereby makes the following order-

Citation and commencement

(1) This Order maybe cited as the Commerce (Rent Increase Restriction on Residential and Ground Rent) Order 2011 and comes into force on 1st May, 2011.

Rent Increase Restriction on residential premises and Ground Rent

(2) Between the period 1st May, 2011 to 31st December, 2011 a person must not charge a rent in respect of the letting or continued letting of any premises under residential tenancy including ground rental to which the Commerce Commission Decree 2010 applies, which exceeds the rent applicable to those premises as at 31st April, 2011.
