DECLARATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS
[Legal Notice No. 88]

PURSUANT to Section 32 of the Trade Standards and Quality Control Decree 1992 and after considering the recommendation from the Trade Standards Advisory Council following an investigation conducted pursuant to Section 34 of the Trade Standards and Quality Control Decree 1992 and notified in Legal Notice No.72 of 2009, I hereby declare the goods specified in the Schedule to be "Dangerous Goods".

Description of the Electrical Kettle

All electric kettles meeting the following description:

The Electric Kettle concerned is a clear see through plastic jug with a yellow, red, blue or green lid and a yellow, red, blue or green clear plastic handle. The jug has yellow, red, blue, or green flowers and contains the inscription "Yaxing Long" below the spout close to the handle.

The Electric Kettle bears no model number nor brand number. The element is located near the plastic bottom and a black electric cord protrudes at the bottom of the handle.

The Electric Kettle lacks proper insulation or outer carriage to protect users, is highly unsafe, carrying a high risk of electric shock and is potentially fatal. The electrical cord supplied is well below standard for length and voltage.

The Electric Kettle does not comply with the low Voltage Directive and the relevant standards.
