R U L I N G

1. By information filed on 20 March 2023, the accused was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse contrary to section 134 of the Penal Code, Cap 67.

2. Counsel for the Republic has today stated in court the Attorney-General’s desire to enter a nolle prosequi under section 68(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

3. The accused, Akuso Lafai, is accordingly discharged.

4. The case file is to be closed.
