ELECTORAL PROVISIONS (PARLIAMENT) AMENDMENT ACT 2019


Act No. 8 of 2019

AN ACT TO AMEND THE ELECTORAL PROVISIONS (PARLIAMENT) ACT TO RESTRICT CAMPAIGN FOR A SPECIAL PERIOD AND TO INCREASE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF NUKULAELAE

Commencement [7th June 2019]

  1. Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Electoral Provisions (Parliament) Amendment Act 2019.

  1. Amendment to section 7

Section 7 is amended by inserting a new subsection (g) as follows:

"(g) the electoral campaign period."
  1. Amendment to section 64

Section 64 is amended by inserting a new subsection (v) to read as:

'(v) the manner of conducting electoral campaigns.".
  1. Amendment to Schedule 1

Schedule 1 is amended by replacing number "1" with number "2" to increase the number of elected representatives for the electoral district of Nukulaelae.
