PROBATION ORDER

Having convicted all of the Defendants as charged, the Court takes into account the nature of the offences with which the defendants have been charged, the penalties prescribed in the Penal Code, and having also the particulars of each of the defendants, this Court hereby pass a probation sentence on all of the defendants for a period of 2 months as an alternative sentence to Imprisonment under section 19(A) l of the Courts Regulation (Amendment) Act No. 34 of 1.989.

The terms and conditions of the probation are as follows:

1. The defendants are to perform free community work for the Port Vila Municipality on every working Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (not including public holidays)

1.a They shall attend to the probation officer appointed. by the court and they shall be told what work to perform.

1.b They shall work from 8.30 AM TO 11.30 AM and from 1 PM to 4.PM on every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

2. The defendants must all be of good behavior while on probation. i.e they must not commit further offences while on probation.

3. The defendants must not absent themselves except for medical leave or any other unforeseen circumstances. But in any case, the probation officer must always be informed.

4. If any of the defendants breaches any of the conditions of this probation sentence, he shall be arrested and be brought before the court for contempt and for re-sentence.

5. The probation sentence shall commence today the 20^th July 2000 and shall run until the 20^th of September 2000.
