FOREIGN SERVICE (AMENDMENT)
ACT NO. 39 OF 2019

An Act to amend the Foreign Service Act No. 20 of 2013.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1. Amendment

The Foreign Service Act No. 20 of 2013 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2. Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF FOREIGN SERVICE ACT NO. 20 OF 2013

1. Paragraphs 4(1)(b),(c),(d),(e) and (f)

Delete “Commission on the recommendation of the Director General”, substitute “Director General upon the approval of the Commission”

2. Paragraph 4(1)(h)

(a) Delete “the Consular”, substitute “an officer”

(b) Delete “Commission on the recommendation of the Director General”, substitute “Director General upon the approval of the Commission”
