THE IMPORT OF GOODS (CONTROL) (AMENDMENT) ACT

An Act to amend the Import of Goods (Control) Act [CAP. 176].

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

INSERTION OF NEW SECTION 1A IN CHAPTER 176

1. The following new section is inserted after section 1 of the Import of Goods (Control) Act [CAP. 176]:-

"LICENCE TO IMPORT GOODS

1A. (1) Subject to section 2, the Minister may, on application, grant a license, in the prescribed form, authorizing the holder to import certain goods specified in the licence, into Vanuatu on such conditions as may be specified in the licence.

(2) An application for a licence under this section shall be in the prescribed form, made to the Minister and shall be accompanied by the prescribed fee.

(3) A Licence shall, subject to such conditions as may be imposed, be valid for such period as shall be specified in the licence."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
