MINIMUM WAGE AND MINIMUM WAGES BOARD (AMENDMENT) ACT NO. 26 OF 2010

An Act to amend the Minimum Wage and Minimum Wages Board Act [CAP 182].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendment

The Minimum Wage and Minimum Wages Board Act [CAP 182] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

AMENDMENTS OF MINIMUM WAGE AND MINIMUM WAGES BOARD ACT [CAP 182]

1 Title of the Act

Delete “AND MINIMUM WAGES BOARD”

2 section 1 (Definition of “Board”)

Repeal the definition, substitute

“Council means the Tripartite Labour Advisory Council established under section 1A of the Employment Act [CAP 160];”

3 Part 3 – Title

Delete “THE MINIMUM WAGES BOARD”, substitute “THE TRIPARTITE LABOUR ADVISORY COUNCIL”

4 Sections 4, 5 and 6

Repeal the sections.

5 Section 7 – Heading

Delete “Board”, substitute “Council”

6 Section 7

Delete “Board” (wherever occurring), substitute “Council”

7 Section 8 – Heading

Delete “Board”, substitute “Council”

8 Section 8

Delete “Board” (wherever occurring), substitute “Council”

9 Subsection 9(3)

Delete “Board”, substitute “Council”
